Are Time, Travel Limitations Or Other Issues Keeping You From Seeking The Help You Need?
As more and more people are increasingly busy with work, travel, hectic commutes and family obligations, many find it difficult to make the time to travel to counseling or find therapists in different cities. Because an increasing number of people want to engage in therapy from their offices or homes, online therapy is becoming the new normal for many. But, is online therapy right for you?
What is online therapy?
Online therapy is traditional therapy done through high-quality video conferencing.
How does online therapy work?
We meet for therapy sessions via video conferencing, which enables you to engage in therapy from the comfort of your own home or the convenience of your office. I use a HIPAA compliant platform, Simple Practice, which means I can ensure confidentiality over the Web. Simple Practice is free and simple to use.
What are the benefits of online therapy?
Online therapy is highly convenient, and you can engage in sessions from a computer or laptop anywhere in the state of California. It’s a useful and effective platform for busy professionals, new and stay-at-home moms, adult children caring for elderly parents, seniors in nursing homes, those living in rural areas and people suffering from anxiety or depression disorders that make it a struggle to leave home. While we’ll address the same thoughts, feelings and issues as we would in face-to-face sessions, online therapy can be done from your office over your lunch break or your living room while your children nap. It also saves on time and travel costs.
What will we talk about in online sessions?
Our online sessions need not be any different than they would be if we were to meet in a traditional office setting. My specialties include depression treatment, anxiety treatment, and trauma therapy.
How do I know that online therapy is right for me?
If you have access to a computer with a webcam and the Internet and reside in the state of California, online therapy may be right for you. While you do have to have basic computer skills, you don’t have to be tech-savvy to use Simple Practice and engage in online therapy. If you’re busy, travel often or find it hard to leave your home, I encourage you to consider the benefits and possibilities of online therapy.
I invite you to call me for a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your specific needs and to answer any questions about my practice.
